Pipelabs supported a large scale event that attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees annually across a multi week international sporting event. 

To support this scale, the event required a highly stable, integrated commerce and POS infrastructure capable of operating under intense transaction volumes, and strict performance expectation quickly and efficiently.

The challenge

Delivering retail and POS capability at a large scale  introduces a unique set of challenges:

• Extremely high transaction volumes within short timeframes

• Multiple retail environments operating at the same time

• Coordination between event operators, retail teams, and tech teams

The solution needed to be resilient, fast, and operationally seamless while still flexible enough to adapt to the dynamic environment of a live and international event.
