Pipelabs built a way to manage large multi brand toy fair orders at scale
Pipelabs partnered with Modern Star to progressively move seven commerce sites onto Shopify with Pocketknife, enabling more scalable B2B commerce capabilities and deeper ERP integration across the organisation.
One of the brands within the Modern Star group, Modern Brands, manages the annual Toy Fair, one of the biggest ordering periods of the year. Retailers and educators place large orders made up of bundle deals across multiple brands, often with different payment and delivery timelines.
While this looks simple from the customer side, there is significant complexity for the back end. This created a challenge for Pipelabs.
Here’s how we solved it:
• Bundle sales required changes to the standard order insertion process
• Shopify manages the storefront and high volume Toy Fair transactions
• Pocketknife enables the advanced B2B purchasing workflows required for bulk ordering
• Credit terms management enables extended payment terms when customers reach brand specific spend thresholds
